 The Story Behind the NameThe name Scout & Nimble is a tribute to Jesse’s grandmother, affectionately known as "Yai-Yai," who instilled in Jesse an entrepreneurial spirit and was a daily example of perseverance, determination and grit. |
 EARLY PASSION FOR DESIGNJesse Bodine’s fascination with design begins early in life. Instead of asking for toys, she preferred décor items, often rearranging her room and watching home decorating shows on TV. In 2002, Jesse started her career as a neonatal nurse, setting aside her design passion for a more practical profession in the medical field.
2007 - A CREATIVE OUTLETAfter giving birth to her first child, Jesse decides to stay home part-time, allowing her to explore her creative side by decorating her home.
2010 - LAUNCH OF THE BLOGWith the arrival of her second child, Jesse created the "Scout & Nimble" blog, named after her grandmother’s old vehicles, to share her family life and home design projects.
2011 - THE RISE OF PINTERESTThe blog experiences significant popularity, driven by Jesse's design projects on Pinterest. This leads to numerous requests from individuals seeking her design assistance. 
2011 - THE BIG IDEAJesse realizes the challenges of accessing designer brands and resources as a newcomer in the interior design world. She connects with other design bloggers facing similar issues. This realization sets the stage for a bigger vision.
2013 - TIME FOR TRANSITIONJesse and her husband, Sam Bodine, discuss transforming the blog into an e-commerce platform. Their vision is to create a site that offers interior designers a way to feature their work and grow their businesses while providing consumers access to high-end designer furniture and décor.
2014 - A PLACE TO CALL HOMEScout & Nimble opens its home office, marking a significant milestone in its growth and establishing a solid foundation for future expansion. 
2014 - THE SITE IS LAUNCHEDSam and Jesse launched the Scout & Nimble website, aiming to simplify the design process for designers by offering a one-stop shop for furniture and décor. 2020 - NAVIGATING THE PANDEMICThe COVID-19 pandemic accelerates business as people spend more time at home. This period of increased demand led to the creation of the sister brand, Bodine White, where clients can work directly with Jesse on remodeling projects.
2024 - WOMAN-OWNED WITH A TEAM OF 30Scout & Nimble now boasts a team of 30 dedicated individuals, servicing designers and customers nationwide, continuing to thrive as a top destination for luxury home décor and furniture.
